More sun and snow

February 14th, 2012 by

The predicted snow stayed away today and it was another day of blue skies and sun. It was our ski lesson today, so after a lazy morning and a French breakfast in La Omlette ( a restaurant we remember visiting during our summer visit here in Chamonix) we met up with our instructor who drove us to the Grande Montets and took us right to the top. The photograph was from here and shows Chamonix from 3,500 m.

After a poor start with Me and Richard both struggling to change our normal style of skiing and ending up in the snow, we persevered and Cecelia managed to teach us how to maintain more control on steep icy slopes and moguls – hopefully we will remember it all again tomorrow. Ben and Matt we both very pleased when they were told their technique was good and they both descended through the off-piste powder and moguls with style.

Ahhhh, what views and wonderful skiiing. I am so jealous.
I used to Ski a lot when a teen but time and money is tighter now so it’s hard to find time.
We hope to get our Ben out next Winter, but not to this type of mountain, in Ontario they’re much smaller.
    Love to all!!!
